PMAY-Gramin (rural)
PMAY-G selects beneficiaries from SECC data and the Awaas+ survey list, verified by gram sabhas. Assistance is paid in installments tied to construction progress, verified with geo-tagged photos. Beneficiaries also get support under convergence — around 90–95 days of MGNREGA wages for construction labour and assistance for toilets under Swachh Bharat Mission.
Who is eligible (Gramin)
- Households with no house, or living in a kutcha/dilapidated house, included in the SECC/Awaas+ list
- Priority to SC/ST households, minorities, freed bonded labourers, widows, persons with disabilities
- Households owning a pucca house, a motorised vehicle, a Kisan Credit Card with limit ≥ ₹50,000, or paying income tax are excluded
PMAY-Urban
PMAY-U supports urban families in the EWS, LIG and MIG income categories through components such as beneficiary-led construction, affordable housing in partnership and interest subsidy on home loans. Applications are made through the official urban portal or your Urban Local Body.
How to apply
- Rural: your name must be in the Awaas+/SECC list — verify at your gram panchayat; the panchayat secretary or block office initiates registration on pmayg.nic.in
- Urban: apply through your Urban Local Body / state portal, or check current application windows on pmay-urban.gov.in
- Keep Aadhaar, bank account details, income proof and land/house documents ready
