How to apply — step by step

  1. Visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) — self-registration also starts at pmvishwakarma.gov.in but biometric verification requires a CSC
  2. Carry Aadhaar, mobile phone and bank passbook; your ration card helps map family details
  3. The CSC operator completes Aadhaar biometric verification and fills your trade, address and bank details
  4. Your application goes through three-stage verification (panchayat/ULB → district → state)
  5. On approval you get the certificate and ID; training slots, the toolkit voucher and loan options unlock in sequence — track everything via status check

Registration is free at CSC centres — no agent fee applies.

Key conditions to know

  • Age 18+ and engaged in the trade on a self-employed basis (family-based traditional trades)
  • Benefits are limited to one member per family (family = husband, wife, unmarried children)
  • Government employees and their family members are not eligible
  • You must not have taken loans under similar credit schemes (PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, Mudra) in the last 5 years — with limited exceptions for fully repaid loans

Frequently asked questions

Is the ₹15,000 toolkit given in cash?

No — it is an e-voucher redeemable for tools of your trade at designated outlets after completing basic training.

Do I have to take the loan?

No. Training, certificate and toolkit benefits stand on their own; the loan is optional.

Can two brothers in the same trade both register?

Only if they belong to separate families as defined by the scheme (married brothers with separate households can each register).
