Once your Ayushman Bharat application is approved, you can download your Ayushman card as a PDF in under 5 minutes using just your mobile number — no fees, no CSC visit needed. This guide covers download via the beneficiary portal, the Ayushman app, and what to do when the download fails or shows “not verified”.
What you need before downloading
- Your mobile number (any active number for portal login)
- Your Aadhaar number (OTP goes to the Aadhaar-linked mobile for verification)
- Card status must be Approved — check via our status guide if unsure
Method 1 — Download from beneficiary.nha.gov.in
- Open beneficiary.nha.gov.in
- Select Beneficiary, enter your mobile number, verify OTP and log in
- Choose your state, district and scheme (PMJAY)
- Search your family by Aadhaar number or Family ID
- Family members appear with card status — click the Download icon next to an Approved member
- Verify with Aadhaar OTP (sent to the Aadhaar-linked mobile of that member)
- The card PDF downloads — save it and take a printout for hospital visits
Method 2 — Ayushman App (Android)
- Install the official Ayushman App from Google Play (by National Health Authority)
- Log in as Beneficiary with mobile OTP
- Search your family, tap the approved member and choose Download Card
- Authenticate via Aadhaar OTP or face authentication — handy for elderly members
Offline options
Any empanelled hospital’s Ayushman Mitra desk or a CSC centre can print your card — free at hospitals; CSCs may charge a nominal printing fee. Carry Aadhaar.
Card download is 100% free on the official NHA portal.
Download problems and fixes
| Problem | Fix |
| OTP not coming | The OTP goes to the Aadhaar-linked mobile — update your Aadhaar mobile at an Aadhaar centre if it changed |
| Status shows “Not verified” | That member’s e-KYC is incomplete — complete it first (see our apply guide) |
| Name not found in search | Try searching by Family ID/ration card instead of Aadhaar, and double-check state/district |
| Download button greyed out | Card approval is still pending — typically clears within days after e-KYC |
| PDF corrupt/blank | Retry on a different browser or the app; downloads occasionally fail at peak hours |
After downloading
- Print a copy for each family member and keep the PDF on your phone
- The card works at any empanelled hospital in India — find one via our hospital list guide
- No renewal needed — the card stays valid; the ₹5 lakh family cover resets every year
Frequently asked questions
Can I download the card with only my mobile number?
You log in with any mobile number, but the final download verification uses the Aadhaar OTP of the card holder, so the Aadhaar-linked mobile must be accessible.
Is the downloaded PDF valid at hospitals or do I need a plastic card?
The PDF (printed or on phone) is fully valid. Hospitals verify you against the database, not the physical card format.
Can I download cards for my whole family at once?
Cards download one member at a time (each needs their own Aadhaar verification), but all from the same login.
