PM Kisan Apply Online 2026 — New Farmer Registration Step by Step

New farmer registration for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is free and fully online. If you own cultivable land in your name, you can apply on pmkisan.gov.in in 15–20 minutes and start receiving ₹6,000 per year in three installments of ₹2,000. This guide covers the online application, the offline CSC route, documents, fees and what happens after you submit.

Before you start — quick checklist

  • Aadhaar card with a linked mobile number (needed for OTP)
  • Bank account linked with Aadhaar (NPCI-seeded)
  • Land record details — khata/khasra number and area of holding
  • You are not in an excluded category (income-tax payer, government employee, etc.) — check eligibility first

How to apply online — step by step

  1. Go to pmkisan.gov.in → Farmers Corner → New Farmer Registration
  2. Select Rural Farmer Registration (village land) or Urban Farmer Registration (urban-area land)
  3. Enter Aadhaar number, mobile number, state and the captcha, then click Get OTP and verify
  4. Fill the registration form: personal details, category, farmer type, bank account (IFSC + account number) and address
  5. Enter land details — survey/khata number, khasra number and land area as per your records
  6. Upload the required documents (land record proof), tick the self-declaration and Submit
  7. Note the registration number shown on screen — you will use it for all status checks

Registration on the official portal is 100% free.

After you submit

  1. Your application goes to the state/district authorities for land record verification
  2. Once verified, your name is added to the beneficiary list
  3. Complete e-KYC (OTP-based on the portal or biometric at a CSC) — payments are held without it
  4. Your first ₹2,000 arrives with the next installment cycle after approval — track it via status check

Apply offline (CSC route)

If you cannot apply yourself, visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) with Aadhaar, bank passbook and land documents. The operator submits the same form on your behalf; a nominal CSC service charge may apply. Your village patwari or local agriculture officer can also help register eligible farmers.

It depends on state land-record verification, typically a few weeks. Track progress with your registration number in Know Your Status.

Can I edit my application after submitting?

Yes — Farmers Corner has options like “Updation of Self Registered Farmer” and “Name Correction as per Aadhaar” for fixing details.

My application was rejected. Can I reapply?

First find the rejection reason in your status. If it was a document or land-record issue, fix it and reapply, or raise a grievance through the portal Help Desk.
